  1. My standard answer to the “but what’s it gonna look like when you’re older?” is “AWESOME!” And these pictures are proof that I’m right. 🙂

  2. Our local mental hospital is full of people self harming trying to cut off ink they now cannot live with.
Most older people i have spoked to about inking hate the ink they had when they were young.
Why have you not got the girl who at the age of 18 had a rose inked on her bum? Now 10 years later and after 4 children she has a green cabbage where the rose once was?
Also most of these tats look newly done, they look nothing like the old tats i have seen.

    1. And you know this because you were in the ‘mental hospital’ too? Quite a derogatory comment. I’m a self harmer and I’ve covered my arms in tattoos in order to hide the scars. I haven’t met anyone in hospital who tried to hack their tattoos off. On the contrary, most self harmers use tattoos to cover their scars. There are plenty of people out there growing old with tattoos. The key is to get something done by a reputable tattooist and if you hate it when you’re older then so what. They become part of who you are unless you’re a complete moron and you get a moronic tattoo. I’ll gladly grow old with tattoos because they have me a second skin and they tell my story!

    2. I would say the only people who would reget it are people who don’t think about tattoos and just get them because they’re the latest trend. My father is 60 has tattoo’s up his arms and doesn’t regret a single one. And is thinking of getting them redone as they have faded a little over time.
I have seven, all designed to mean a large part of my life all gotten in late teens, and twenties and none I regret and in fact to show them and tell people the stories behind them.
I also have a friend who is 63 and still getting inked.
I tell any young person who is cavalier about tattoo’s to think about it, think about it for six months before getting a tattoo because you can get them removed but its expensive, painful and doesn’t always work but I would never tell anyone not to have one

  3. My stock answer to people who ask if I’m worried about my tattoos when I’m older… Tattoos will be the least of my worries by then.
